Churches We’re Thankful For

10.

We are thankful for the new church plant in Cochabamba, Bolivia.  They had their kickoff service last week with 160 in attendance.  An additional 90 were prevented from attending due to political unrest and roadblocks in the area.  We are thankful for their commitment, and grateful that we live in a country at peace.

9.

We are thankful for the Southern Hills Church of Christ in Abilene, Texas.  They have supported us in every way imaginable.  Our latest blessing is that they are providing partial support for our summer minister intern, Bret Hines, who will work with our Vacation Bible School, our teens, and our children’s ministry.

8.

We are thankful for the worldwide invisible church that belongs to Jesus.  It knows no social, economic, national, ethnic, or denominational boundaries.  He is our Lord, and we are his people; it is good to be just Christians.

7.

We are thankful for the Agape Church of Christ, which will begin meeting publicly in Beaverton on Easter Sunday.  We are thankful they are meeting with us February 4, and we are thankful we will be able to help them with their one-time startup costs with a special contribution February 11.

6.

Each one of us is thankful for the church of our childhood, where we learned the mystery of faith, not to hit people, that reading the Bible is good, and that Jesus is our friend.

5.

We are thankful for the Idaho Springs, Colorado, Church of Christ where our minister preached his first sermon.  We’re thankful they had to put up with it, instead of us!

4.

We are thankful for other churches in our community and around the world that are teaching that truth matters.  They are planting seeds that will bear fruit in an upcoming revival of faith.

3.

We are thankful for other churches in our community and around the world that are helping the poor and disenfranchised.  They make the world a better place, and may the Lord bless them for their sacrificial service.

2.

We are thankful for other churches in our community and around the world that are sharing the good news of salvation with their neighbors.  May their number increase.

And most of all…

1.

We are thankful for Living Streams.  We are thankful for the love and camaraderie that we share, and for the opportunity to be part of something special.

At Living Streams, we don't have all the answers. But we do have an authentic faith that provides meaning and anchors in the chaos of everyday life. It's something worth believing. But don't take our word for it... come see for yourself! Join us this Sunday at the Spring Mountain Elementary School at 10:00 AM. It will be a great opportunity for you to renew your relationship with God, and make some new friends.

The latest top ten will generally be updated each week on Wednesdays. Sometimes it will be funny, sometimes serious, but always engaging.
