10 Important Sayings About Money

10.

Always remember that it is the Lord your God who gives you power to become rich, and he does it to fulfill the covenant he made with your ancestors. - Deuteronomy 8:18

9.

Give me neither poverty nor riches!  For if I grow rich, I may deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?” And if I am too poor, I may steal and and thus insult God’s holy name. - Proverbs 30:8b-9

8.

For the love of money is at the root of all kinds of evil.  And some people, craving money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. - 1 Timothy 6:10

7.

No one can serve two masters.  For you will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other.  You cannot serve both God and money. - Matthew 6:24

6.

You must each make up your own mind as to how much you should give.  Don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure.  For God loves the person who gives cheerfully. - 2 Corinthians 9:7

5.

If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord--and he will repay you! - Proverbs 19:17

4.

If you give, you will receive.  Your gift will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over.  Whatever measure you use in giving--large or small--it will be used to measure what is given back to you. - Luke 6:38

3.

The generous prosper and are satisfied; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. - Proverbs 11:25

2.

Since you excel in so many ways--you have so much faith, such gifted speakers, such knowledge, such enthusiasm, and such love for us--now I want you to excel also in this gracious ministry of giving. - 2 Corinthians 8:7

1.

When you give a gift to someone in need, don’t shout about it as the hypocrites do--blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity!  I assure you, they have received all the reward they will ever get. - Matthew 6:2
