- We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired and authoritative
word of God.
- We believe in one God who eternally exists in three
persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ who, being fully
God, became fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived
a sinless life, died on a cross, and was raised from the
dead.
- We believe all humans rebel against God and deserve
the punishment of death.
- We believe that salvation from the penalty of death
is made possible only because Jesus Christ died as a sin
offering in our place.
- We believe this salvation is offered as a gift to those
who believe in Jesus Christ. Since it is a gift, it cannot
be earned.
- We believe true faith is expressed in repentance and
embodied in baptism. Baptism is immersion in water of
a declared believer in Christ.
- We believe the Holy Spirit lives in the Christian.
He empowers us to live a life of holiness, as well as
guides, comforts, and assists us in prayer.
- We believe there is one church which consists of all
Christians.
- We believe Jesus will personally come again with His
angels and appear to all. The dead will be raised and
all will stand before the throne of God to be judged for
the life they have lived on this earth.
- We believe these convictions are not a reason for spiritual pride, but should lead us to an attitude of gratitude and humility.
About the statement:
Living Streams Church of Christ is an independent congregation,
having no denominational creed. Along with other Churches
of Christ and Christian Churches, we are rooted in the rich
heritage of the Restoration movement. This movement and our
congregation were founded on the convictions of going back
to the Bible and believers uniting around the truth of the
Scriptures. This is not an official statement of
faith but is given here as an example of some of our generally
shared beliefs, and as a call for us all to unite upon the
classic truths of Christianity.
